Natural Ways to Remove Blackheads on Face and Nose

What are Blackheads and Whiteheads?

Blackheads are small black skin projections often found on the face especially on the nose and sometimes on the back. These black projections form a plug blocking the sebaceous glands of the skin. They are caused due to excessive production of ‘sebum’ ( an oily substance) from the sebaceous gland that slowly gets hardened when they mix with dead skin and bacteria. The sebum gets exposed to oxygen from the air and gets oxidised and turns black.

When they are below the pore opening they appear as white or yellow bumps and they don’t get oxidised and are called whiteheads.

What are the Common Causes of Blackheads?

• Stress

Follow these simple, natural ways to clean the pores and remove blackheads using easily available ingredients at home.

Tomato Wash: Tomatoes have natural antiseptic properties that dry up blackheads. Take a small tomato, peeled and mashed, then apply it over the blackheads before going to bed. Leave overnight and then wash face with clean water in the morning.

Lemon Scrub: Lemon is another natural ingredient that is effective in treating blackheads. Squeeze few drops of lemon juice in a bowl, add salt and stir the mixture well. Wash face with warm water and apply the mixture on the blackheads. Leave for some 20 minutes and wash face again with warm water.

Toothpaste Rub: Apply a thin layer of toothpaste over the blackheads, leave for 25 minutes and wash face gently with warm water. Repeat this remedy for two weeks to be free from blackheads.

Honey Massage: Honey has antiseptic properties that work wonders for both oily skin and blackheads. Apply honey onto the affected area and wash off with warm water after 15 minutes.

Baking Soda Mask: Prepare a mixture of baking soda and water to make a paste. Apply gently to the affected part, allow to dry for few minutes and then rinse it off with warm water to remove away the oil and dirt that cause blackheads.

Oatmeal Pack: A mixture of oatmeal and yogurt is good for the skin and helps banish blackheads. Mix 2 tablespoons of oatmeal with 3 tablespoons of yogurt, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and olive oil to it; mix all these ingredients well till it forms a paste. Apply the mixture on the face, leave for 10-15 minutes and wash face with cold water.

Egg Wash: Raw eggs are an effective home remedy to get rid of blackheads. Beat one to two egg whites, mixed with one tablespoon of honey. Apply this mixture over the area of blackheads, leave for 30 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Cinnamon Pack: Prepare a mixture of equal parts of cinnamon powder and limejuice to form a thick paste. Apply the paste to the affected parts and leave on overnight and then wash off with warm water in the morning.

Aakhri Mulakat

રોજ ની જેમ આજે પણ સાંજના સાડા છ વાગે બન્ને એ મળવાનું નક્કી કર્યું હતું. લો ગાર્ડન પાસે નું એએમટીએસ બસ સ્ટેન્ડ પાસે નો બાંકડો પણ તેમની મુલાકાત માટે જાણે ટેવાઈ ગયો હોય તેમ તેમની આતુરતા થી રાહ જોઈ રહયો હતો.
પ્રેમે નીકળતા પહેલા નિશા ને ફોન કરી ને ઘરે થી નીકળવાનું કહી દીધું હતું. પ્રેમ અને નિશા કોલેજ માં બે વરસ સાથે સમય પસાર કર્યા પછી રોજ સમી સાંજે આ બાંકડા પર ચાલીસ મિનિટ બેસી ને એક મેક માં ખોવાઈ જઇ ને વાતો કરતા, જાણે તેમના માટે આ રૂટીન બની ગયું હતું.
પ્રેમ અને નિશા MBA માં કોલેજ માં સાથે ભણતા હતા. પ્રેમ એ સામાન્ય ઘર માંથી આવતો એક સાદો વ્યક્તિ હતો, તે બીજા કોલેજિયન જેવો જરા પણ ન હતો, તેના માટે અભ્યાસ પૂરો કરી ને તેના પિતા ને મદદરૂપ થવાનો હેતુ મુખ્ય હતો. પ્રેમ ભણવા માં ખુબ જ હોશિયાર હતો, અને તેના કારણે જ તેની અને નિશા ની વાતચીત ની શરૂઆત થઇ હતી. એ પેલો પ્રોજેક્ટ બને જણા ની નજીક આવવાનું કારણ બની ગયો હતો.
પ્રેમ ની એ સાદગી નિશા ને તેની સાથે પ્રિત કરતા રોકી શકી ન હતી. એ બન્ને ની જોડી કોલેજમાં બહુ પ્રચલિત હતી, ઉપરાંત બન્ને અભ્યાસ માં પણ એક બીજા ને પૂરતી સ્પર્ધા પુરી પાડતા હતા. પ્રોફેસર લોકો ને પણ આ લોકો ની જોડી માં વિશ્વાસ હતો અને નિશા અને પ્રેમે પણ બે વરસ માં તેમના લોકો નો વિશ્વાસ માં ખરા ઉતર્યા હતા. જયારે કોલેજ માં છેલ્લા સેમેસ્ટર પછી કંપની જોબ પ્લેસમેન્ટ માટે આવી ત્યારે બન્ને નું પ્લેસમેન્ટ પણ એક જ કંપની માં થયું હતું, જયારે આ સમાચાર પ્રેમ ને મળયા ત્યારે તેની ખુશી નો કોઈ પાર રહ્યો ન હતો. તેના માટે તો જાણે ઉડવું હતું ને ખુલ્લું આકાશ મળી ગયું હતું.
બધું સારું જઈ રહ્યું હતું, પણ અચાનક આજે પ્રેમે નિશા ને ફોન કરી ને સાંજે મળવાનું કહ્યું અને કહ્યું કે આપણે આજે છેલ્લી વખત મળી રહ્યા છીએ. નિશા માટે આ નવું ન હતું, પ્રેમ પેલા પણ આવી મજાક બે વખત કરી ચુક્યો હતી. તેમ છતાં, આ વખતે નિશા ને મન માં કૈક મુંજવી રહ્યું હતું, તે એક્ટિવા લઈને ઘર ની બહાર નીકળી.
નિશા ને એક્ટિવા ચલાવતા પ્રેમ સાથે વિતાવેલા પળો યાદ આવવા લાગ્યા. એ પેલી વખત પ્રેમ સાથે ની મુલાકાત, એ પેલા પ્રોજેક્ટ માટે ની મહેનત, કેન્ટીન માં સાથે બેસવું, એ મજાક મસ્તી , દરેક વસ્તુ તેની આંખો ની સમક્ષ આવી રહ્યું હતું. નિશા તેમ છતાં મન ને મનાવી રહી હતી, આજે કીધા વગર ઓફિસ ના ગઈ એટલે ખોટું લાગયું હશે, તેને મળી ને પ્રેમ સભર ગળે લગાવી લઇસ, એટલે પ્રેમ માની જશે. એમ વિચારતી તે તેમના રોજ ના મળવા ના સ્થળે પહોંચી.
પ્રેમ ત્યાં પહેલે થી જ ત્યાં ઉભો હતો, નિશા એ સ્મિત સાથે તેને ગળે લગાવી લીધો. થોડીવાર બન્ને ચુપચાપ એકબીજા ને જોતા રહ્યા. વાત ની શરૂઆત નિશા એ કરી.
" કેમ મારી સાથે આવું કરે છે ? તને ખબર છે હું કેટલી ચિંતા કરવા લાગી હતી, કેમ નારાજ થયો ?"
"હું મજાક નથી કરી રહ્યો"
તો? નિશા એ ગુસ્સા માં પૂછ્યું.
" આ આપણી આખરી મુલાકાત છે , આજ પછી આપણે ક્યારે પણ નઈ મળીએ".
"પણ, કેમ એવું તે શું થયું છે", પ્રેમ ના અવાજ ની ગંભીરતા જોઈ ને નિશા ચિંતિત થઇ ગઈ હતી.
"કઈ જ નઈ", પ્રેમ જવાબ મક્કમ બની ને આપી રહ્યો હતો.
નિશા રડી પડી હતી હવે અને બોલી ઉઠી, "ઘર માં કઈ થયું ? આંટી સાથે ઝગડો થયો ?"
"ના" પ્રેમે ટૂંક માં પતાવ્યું.
" કોઈ બીજી ગમે છે", પ્રેમ ના ટૂંકા જવાબ થી અકળાઈ ને બોલી.
" ના", પ્રેમ પણ મક્કમ બની રહ્યો હતો..
"સારું, તું ના બોલ, હું જવું છુ ઘરે, ગુસ્સો ઉતરી જાય પછી ફોન કરજે મળશું"બોલી ને નિશા ત્યાંથી ગુસ્સા માં પણ આંશુ સાથે નીકળી ગઈ.
ચાર દિવસ વીતી ગયા, આ વાત ને પણ હજી પ્રેમ અને નિશા ને વચ્ચે વાત નથી થઇ, નિશા ના મેસેજ નો પણ પ્રેમે જવાબ નથી આપી રહ્યો. નિશા ઘરે છે અને ન્યૂઝ પેપર વાંચી રહી છે અને અચાનક તેની નજર એક આર્ટિકલ પર પડે છે, જેમાં લખ્યું હોય છે :
" દોસ્તી ની સાચી મિસાલ : એક મિત્ર માટે બીજા મિત્ર એ કર્યા શરીર ના અગત્ય ના અંગો ના દાન અને વહોરી લીધું મોત".
પ્રેમ હવે આ દુનિયા માં નથી, તે મિત્ર માટે પોતાની ફેમિલી અને નિશા ને મૂકી ને આ દુનિયા છોડી ને જતો રહ્યો છે, પણ નિશા આજે પણ એ બાંકડા પર સાડા છ વાગે એકલી બેસેલી જોવા મળે છે.

સાંજ ઘેરાઈ હતી .અમર ઘરના દીવાનખંડમાં આરામથી ક્રિકેટ નિહાળી રહ્યો હતો . આરોહી બાલ્કનીમાં ઉભી, આથમી ગયેલા સૂર્ય ની લાલિમા નિહાળી રહી હતી.સ્ટ્રીટલાઈટ નો પ્રકાશ આરોહીના અંતરને ના જાણે કેમ ઝંઝોળી રહ્યો હતો. પાડોશીના ટીવી પર જૂનું ફિલ્મી ગીત " કિસી ને અપના બનાકે મુજ કો મુસ્કુરાના શીખા દિયા" વાગી રહ્યું હતું. સાંભળતા જ ... એના હોઠ પર દર્દ ભર્યું સ્મિત આવી ગયું અને ત્રીસ વર્ષ થી હ્રદયમાં દફનાઈ ગયેલી સ્મૃતિઓ જાગી ઉઠી . .

આ ગીત કોલેજના દિવસોમાં નિરંતર એ મનમાં ગાતી રહેતી ...અરે વાગોળતી જ રહેતી. એક દિવસ ચાલુ ક્લાસે મનમાં મરક્તી આરોહીને સખી રીનાએ પૂછ્યું પણ ખરું કે આરોહી તારું ધ્યાન ક્યાં છે? શું હસે છે?

આજે યોંવનના પગથીયે પગ મુકતા જોયેલા સ્વપ્નો ફરી તાજા થઇ ગયા .એને પ્રિયેશની યાદ આવી ગઈ .થોડા વાંકળિયા વાળવાળો ગોરો ચહેરો નજર સમક્ષ રમવા લાગ્યો. .અત્યારે એ શું કરતો હશે? શું એને પણ મારી યાદ આવતી હશે?

ડૂબી ગયેલી સાંજના ઠંડા પવને એના અતીતનો દરવાજો ખોલી નાખ્યો . પ્રિયેશ એન્જીન્યરીંગ કોલેજમાં હતો . રીનાને મળવા આવનાર એના ભાઈ મુકેશ સાથે આરોહીની કોલેજમાં ઘણીવાર આવતો . .....

એક દિવસ આરોહી કોલેજના બગીચામાં સખીવૃન્દ સાથે બેસી મજાકમસ્તી કરતી હતી. નજીક જ પડતી કોલેજની બારીમાં બેસી પ્રિયેશ આ મસ્તી માણતો આરોહીને નિહાળતો હતો .આરોહી નું ધ્યાન જતા એ પણ સખીઓથી નજર ચુરાવી એને જોઈ લેતી હતી. પ્રિયેશ ત્યાંથી મલકાતો હતો. ધીરે ધીરે આવો ક્રમ બની ગયો હતો . કલાસમાં ચાલતા લેકચરમાં કાલિદાસના "અભિજ્ઞાન શાકુંતલમ્", "વિક્રમોર્વર્શીયમ્" કે માઘના મહાકાવ્ય શિશુપાલવધના નાયકમાં આરોહીને મલકતો પ્રિયેશ જ દેખાતો.

પરીક્ષા નજીક આવી રહી હતી. સૌ સખીઓ ક્લાસમાં હતી. આરોહીને એક પ્રશ્નના ઉત્તર લખવાના સંદર્ભમાં એક બુક જોઈતી હોય એ લાયબ્રેરી તરફ નીકળી .બુક લઇ હજુ વાંચવાનો પ્રયાસ કરતી હતી ત્યાં બાજુ માં પ્રિયેશ એક બુક લઇ બેસી ગયો. એનું દિલ એક ધડકન ચુકી ગયું .રોજ એને જોઈ મલકતાં ચહેરે કહ્યુ .." હું પ્રિયેશ " આરોહીનું ગળું હોઠ જ સુકાઈ ગયા અને મહાપ્રયત્ને બોલી ' હું જાણું છું ' એના વ્યક્તિત્વથી અંજિત એ ઉભી થઇ ગઈ. પ્રિયેશે પ્રેમથી હાથ પકડી ફરી બેસાડી અને કહ્યું . એક વાત સાચી કહું છું માનશો ? પ્રિયેશના પ્રથમ સ્પર્શથી રોમાંચિત આરોહીએ તુરંત સુધાર્યું...માનશો નહી પણ માનશે ? કહેવું વધુ ઠીક લાગશે, સાંભળી પ્રિયેશના મુખ પર એક મોહક સ્મિત ફરી વળ્યું અને કહ્યું ઘણા દિવસથી આંકાક્ષા હતી કે મારી મનગમતી વ્યક્તિ ને હું એકાંતમાં મળું અને કઈ પણ કહ્યા વગર જ મારા દિલની ઉર્મીઓને એ સમજે અને અનુભવી શકે . આરોહી ! તું સમજે છે ને? એ તો ખુબ રોમાંચિત હતી .. મીઠી મુસ્કાન એનો ઉત્તર હતો. પછી તો બંને મિત્રવૃંદથી બહાના કાઢી વાંચવાના બહાને લાયબ્રેરીની નિરવ શાંતિમાં નિ:શબ્દ એકબીજાને નીરખતા બેસતા. કયારે ચુપકીદી જ વાચાળ બની જતી. પણ અભ્યાસ પર ક્યારે ય અસર થવા દેતા નહીં.

સામાજીક નીતિબધ્ધતાને કારણે ખુલ્લેઆમ મળી શકાતું નહીં પણ આંખોના ઈશારાથી ઘણી વાતો કરતા. સમય ક્યાં પસાર થઇ ગયો એ યાદ જ ના રહ્યું. પ્રિયેશનું એન્જીન્યરીંગ પૂર્ણ થયું. પ્રથમ શ્રેણીમાં ઉત્તીર્ણ થઇ ગયો...ખુશીનો કોઈ પાર ના હતો. અને સારી જોબની ઓફર મળતા એ જોઈન્ટ થઇ ગયો. આરોહી પણ સ્નાતક થઇ ગઈ.

પ્રિયેશના ઘરમાં આ ડીગ્રી નાની લાગશે સમજી એણે પોતાના ઘરમાં મનાઈ થતા થોડી સમજાવટ કરી અનુસ્નાતક થવા પાર્ટ ટાઇમ લેકચર એટેન્ડ કરવા બીજા શહેરમાં જવા લાગી. આ શહેરમાં કોઈ પરિચિત મળવાનો ડર ના હતો.શનિ-રવિવારના દિવસોમાં બંનેનું મિલન થીયેટર કે હોટલ કે કોલેજ માં થતું ... એકબીજાના થઇ રહેવાના મસ્ત સ્વપ્નો જોતા સમય પસાર થતો હતો.

કિન્તુ તે દિવસે પ્રિયેશ ખુબ અશાંત લાગતો હતો. એને ઘણું કહેવું હતું પણ ચુપ હતો. આરોહીએ મૌન તોડ્યુ .. " પ્રિયેશ કઈ તો બોલ. શું થયું છે ? " તો એણે ખુબ ધીર ગંભીર સ્વરે કહ્યુ ' આરોહી ચાલ આપણે ક્યાંક ભાગી ને લગ્ન કરી લઈએ " સાંભળી એ ખુબ હતપ્રભ થઇ ગઈ બોલી " કેમ શું થયું ? "

પ્રિયેશની બહેનના લગ્નની ખરીદી ચાલી રહી હતી. પ્રિયેશ પર પણ લગ્નનું દબાણ થઇ રહ્યું હતું . પ્રિયેશે જણાવ્યું કે સામાજિક મોભાને કારણે એના ઘરના વડીલો એ સ્પષ્ટ કહી દીધું હતું કે '' તારી બહેનના લગ્નમાં વિઘ્નરૂપ થાય એવું કોઈ કાર્ય કરીશ નહી.અમારી પ્રતિષ્ઠા નું ધ્યાન રાખજે " પ્રિયેશના વડીલો એ થોડામાં ઘણું કહ્યું હતું, એ આરોહી સમજી ગઈ . પ્રિયેશની અનેક વિનંતી છતાં આરોહી વડીલોના આત્મસન્માન ને ઠેસ પહોચાડી લગ્ન કરવા તૈયાર ના થઇ. તે સમયે આવા લગ્ન કરવા કેટલું કઠીન હતું? સામાજિક પ્રતિભાવો અને પરિણામ આરોહી સમજતી હતી. એણે પ્રિયેશને ઘણો સમજાવ્યો ...સંસારને જીતવો સહેલો નથી. વડીલોની મરજી વિરુધ્ધના લગ્ન કરી સંસાર શરુ કરવાથી સુખચૈનથી જીવી શકાશે નહીં.... પણ પ્રિયેશે ઘણી વિનવણી કરી. આરોહીનું મન મુઝવણના ભાર નીચે દબાઈ ગયું. પણ એને માં-બાપે આપેલા સંસ્કારે રોકી લીધી અને એણે સામાજિક માનમર્યાદા ના પલડાને નમાવી દીઘું.

આરોહી એ પરિસ્થિતિનો મુકાબલો કરવાને બદલે અલગાવ કેમ સ્વીકારી લીધો? આરોહી જાણતી હતી કે લગ્ન એટલે સિર્ફ પતિ - પત્ની નો સંબંધ નહીં પણ બે ઘર અને સમાજ સાથેનું પણ જોડાણ છે. પ્રિયેશે અંતરમાં અપાર વેદના અને આંસુ ભરેલ આંખથી એની આંખો માં જોયું .આરોહીની આંખ કોઈ ઊંડા અથાગ જળાશય જેવી લાગતી હતી. હૈયામાં ઉદભવેલા ભાવોનું દર્શન થતું ના હતું. એ હચમચી ગયો. સંયમનું આવરણ તૂટી ગયું. આરોહીને ગળે લગાવી દીધી તો બંનેની આંખોમાંથી જાણે સાત સમુદ્રના મોજા ઉછળ્યા. શાંત થતા ફરી કિનારે આવ્યા .સત્ય સમજાયું. બંનેના જીવનમાં કોઈ ઝંઝાવાત ના આવે માટે કયારેય એકબીજાના જીવનમાં ના આવવું કે ના ઝાંખવુંના પરસ્પર સંમતિથી વચન આપ્યા . એકબીજા ને સુખીજીવનની શુભેચ્છા આપી.

બન્ને ને એકબીજાથી દૂર તો ક્યાં જવું હતું ? પણ ભાગ્ય આગળ ક્યાં કોઈનું ચાલે છે? હ્રદય પર અંકિત મૂર્તિ ભૂંસી કદી ભુસાવાની નથી જાણતા હોવા છતાં એક પડદો પાડી દીધો અને બીજાઓથી અજાણ્યો એવો અનોખો પ્રેમ ક્યાંક છુપાઈ ગયો. ટ્રેઈન આવવાનો સમય થઇ ગયો હતો..બીજી ટ્રેનનો સમય તો રાત્રે ૧૧ નો હોય સમયસર ઘરે પણ પહોચવાનું હતું ને ! બંને ઉભા થયા . હોટલમાં instrumental music પર સંજોગવસાત "આંસુભરી હૈ યે જીવન કી રાહે ...કોઈ ઉનસે કહ્દો હંમે ભૂલ જાયે" વાગી રહ્યું હતું.

આરોહી વિચારવા લાગી ભૂલી જજો કહેવાથી કોઈને ભૂલી શકાય છે?

આખરી મિલન ..પ્રિયેશે જતા જતા ફરી એક વાર આરોહીના ખભે હાથ મુક્યો.. આંખ સજળ થઇ.

આરોહીને પ્રિયેશનો આખરી પ્ર્રેમભર્યો સાંત્વનનો સ્પર્શ થઈ રહ્યો છે એવું લાગ્યું..આ તો અમરે ધીરેથી આવી આરોહીના ખભે હાથ મૂકી પૂછ્યું. આરુ ! શું કરે છે અહીં ? તારી સખી રીનાના દીકરાના લગ્નમાં નથી જવું ? અમરના સાદે એની તંદ્રા તૂટી.

આરોહી અમર સાથે લગ્નસમાંરભમાં આવી. વ્યસ્ત રીનાને મળી પણ વધારે વાત ના થઇ. dinner લઇ એક જગ્યાએ બેસી લગ્ન વિધિ જોઈ રહી હતી. અમર એના કોઈ પરિચિત સાથે વાતોમાં મગ્ન હતો. ત્યાં પાછળથી એક અવાજ આવ્યો "આરોહી " . એનું હ્રદય આજે ધબકારો ચુક્વાને બદલે જાણે બંધ થઇ ગયું. વર્ષો પછી એજ અવાજ... પાછળ જોયું, એજ સ્મિત.

સાંજ થી મન અતીતમાં ફરતું હતું .વ્યાકુળ તો હતું જ ત્યાં આ કેવો સંજોગ? આરોહીની આંખ સજળ થઇ ગઈ. કેટલા વરસો પછી આજે એને જોયો હતો. અશ્રુ રોકવાના પ્રયાસમાં ઉત્તર આપવાની હિમ્મત ક્યાં હતી.? અશ્રુબંધન તૂટી ના પડે માટે એ અમરની બાજુ માં જઈ બેસી ગઈ. પ્રિયેશ કોલેજના દિવસોની જેમ અપલક નજરે જોતો રહ્યો. આજે આરોહીની મસ્તી નહીં પણ માનો એના દામ્પત્ય જીવનની ચકાસણી કરતો ના હોય ?

આરોહીને પણ એને દિલ ભરી જોવો હતો..મળવું હતું...પણ એક ડર હતો કે આંસુઓ બંધ તોડી નાખશે તો? અમરને શું જવાબ આપશે? આરોહી મુઝાઇ, ગભરાઈ .અને તુરંત પત્નીત્વની ગરિમા ને જાળવવા દ્રઢતાથી અમરનો હાથ પકડી કહ્યુ ચાલો હવે ઘર જઈએ અને મંડપની બહાર જવા પ્રયાણ કર્યું.

અમર ગાડી લેવા આગળ વધ્યો તો ફરી એજ અવાજ.. “આરોહી ! એક વાર મળીશ? "

આરોહી શું કહે ? ઉત્તર આપવાની હિમ્મત એકઠી કરવાનો પ્રયાસ કરે ત્યાંતો અમર ગાડી લઇ આવી પહોચ્યો. .

આરોહી જતા જતા પ્રિયેશ ને પ્રેમભરી નજરે જોવાની ઈચ્છાને દબાવી ના શકી .

“હૈપી વેલેંટાઇન ડે.. વિલ યુ બી માઇ વેલેંટાઇન્.?” ધરતીના હાથમાં લાલગુલાબ હતુ એ ઘુટનો પર બેસી તેને પ્રપોઝ કરી રહી હતી. અંબર ચમકીને બે ડગલા પાછળ હટી ગયો.આ ક્ષણોં આવશે એ તેને ખબર હતી. પણ આજે આવશે તેનો અંદાજ નહોતો.જ્યારે ધરતી માટે પ્રપોઝ કરવા માટે આના સિવાય બીજો સારો દિવસ કયો હોઇ શકે..

“ શું કરે છે તુ ધરતી.?તને ખબર છે ને આપણે બે નદીના બે કિનારા જેવા છીયે.. જે ક્યારેય મળતા નથી. તુ ક્યાં ને હું ક્યાં.. તુ સ્માર્ટ, દેખાવડી.,. પૈસાદાર બાપની એક માત્ર દિકરી.. હું મુફલિસ, જેને ન કોઇ આગળ ન પાછળ. તુ મારી સાથે પરણીને ક્યારેય સુખી નહી થાય.”

“ અપોઝિટ ઓલવેઝ એટ્રેક્ટ .. ભલે આપણા નેચર જુદા હોય.અંબર અને ધરતી એકબીજી વગર રહી જ ન શકે.. એક બીજા વગર તેમનુ કોઇ અસ્તિત્વ જ નથી .” ધરતી પોતાની દલીલ ને વળગીરહી.

અંબરે તેને ઘણીરીતે સમજાવી.. પણ ધરતી ન માની. અંબરને પામવા માટે તેણે પિતાનુ મહેલ જેવું ધર છોડી દીધુ ને અંબરનાવનરૂમ કિચનમાં રહેવા આવી ગઇ . થોડા મિત્રોની હાજરીમાં બન્ને પરણી ગયા.અને તેમનો સુખથી નિતરતો.. મહેંકતો સંસાર શરૂ થયો.

અંબર સવારે જોબ પર જતો. સાંજના વાયોલીન શિખવાડવાના બે ત્રણ ટ્યુશન કરતો. અને પછી લો કોલેજમાં ભણવા જતો. ઘણુ સંઘર્ષમય જીવન હતુ.પણ ધરતીએ પોતાના પ્રેમ,સમજણ અને સ્નેહથી સંસારને મધુરતાથી ભરી દીધો. તે શોખીન હતી. ઘરને સરસ સજાવતી.ખાવાની અલગ અલગ ડીશ બનાવતી.. આજુ બાજુ બધાના સાથે ખુબ મનમેળ રાખતી. “તુ આ બધુ કેવી રીતે મેનેજ કરે છે ધરતી..? મારા ઓછા પગારમાં.”...અને ધરતી તેની મોઢા પર હાથ મુકી દેતી.. “તેની ચિંતા તમે કરવાની છોડી દો વકીલ સાહેબ..તમારા ભણવા પર કોંસનટ્રેટ કરો..’

અંબર પોતાના મિત્રોમાં ધરતીનાવખાણ કરતો. “ઘરનુ મેનેજમેંટતો મારી ધરતીનુ..મને લાગે છે જો તેને દેશનુ મેનેજમેંટ સોપવામાં આવે તો દેશની બધી ખાદ પૂરી થઇ જાય.”તેના મિત્રોને આમેય તેની ઇર્ષા આવતી . કાગળો દહિથરુ લઇ ગયો. ની લાગણી થતી. બધાને એમ હતુ કે આ લગ્ન કંઇ લાંબુ ખેંચશે નહીં. પણ બધાના આશ્ચર્ય અને અદેખાઇની વચ્ચે અંબર અને ધરતીનો સુખી સંસાર વહ્યે જતો હતો.  

ક્યારેક અંબરને વાયોલીનના પ્રોગ્રામમળી જતા.જેમા પૈસાસારા મળતા. ધરતી તેના પ્રોગ્રામમાં ફ્રંટ સીટ પર બેસી તેને વાયોલીન વગાડતા જોયા કરતી. અનિમેષ.... . અંબરના આરૂપના પ્રેમમાં જ તો તે પડી હતી.

કોલેજના સાંસ્ક્રતિક પ્રોગ્રામના રિહર્સલમાં તેણે પહલી વાર વાયોલીન વગાડતા જોયો હતો. તલ્લીન.. જેમ સમાધીમાં હોય તેમ અંબર વગાડતો હતો. ધરતી ત્યારથી જ તેના પ્રેમમાં પડી ગઇ હતી.પણ અંબર એને ખાસ ભાવ આપતો નહોતો. બસ પોતાના કામથી કામ રાખતો. શાંત સ્ટુડિયસ છોકરો.. પણ એ છોકરો પિગળ્યો જ્યારે કોલેજડે પ્રોગ્રામમાં ધરતીએ એના સુરીલા કંઠે ગાયુ...

તુ અને હું જાણે સામા કિનારા .ને વચ્ચે આ વહેતુ તે શું..

ઓડિયંસએ તેને તાળીઓથી વધાવી. પણ તેનેતો દરકાર હતી અંબરની તાળીઓની. અને જ્યારે અંબરે તેને બિરદાવી ત્યારે તે સાતમાઆસમાનમાં વિહરવા લાગી અને અંબરને પામવાના સપના જોવા લાગી. ધીરે ધીરે બન્ને એકબીજાની નજીક આવતા ગયા.જ્યારે અંબરને ધરતીના સામાજિક સ્ટેટ્સની ખબર પડી ને તેને ધરતીને મળવાનુ બંધ કર્યુ.. એ ધરતી થી દૂર રહવા લાગ્યો. પણ અંતે ધરતીના પ્રેમે એને હરાવી જ દીધો.

અંબરને ખબર ન પડે તેમ ધરતી આજુબાજુના છોકરાઓને ભણાવતી હતી. ફાજલ સમયમાં તેમની માટે સ્કૂલના અઘરા પ્રોજેક્ટ બનાવી આપતી જેના એને સારા પૈસા મળતા. ..ઘરકામમાંથી નવરી પડે કે કંઇનુ કંઇ કરતી હોય.પોતાના પિતાનુ ઘર તો તેને છોડી દીધુ હતુ.સાસરીમાં કોઇ હતુ નહી.સગા કે વહાલા જે ગણોતે આ પડોશી જ હતા.

જોત જોતામાંવરસ વીતી ગયુ. “હેપી વેલેંટાઇન ડે અંબર.”. ધરતીએ સવારે તેને ઉઠાડતા ઉષ્મા ભર્યુ આલિંગન આપ્યુ. “આજે આપણને મળ્યાને વરસ પૂરૂ થયુ.. લેટ્સ સેલિબ્રેટ..”

“ ઓ ધરતી હું તને કહેતા જ ભૂલી ગયો. મને આજે સાંજના એક કોંસર્ટમાં વાયોલીન વગાડવા માટેનુ આમંત્રણ મળ્યુ છે. મોટા મોટા દિગ્ગજો સાથે એક ફ્લોર પર મને વાયોલિન વગાડવાનો મોકો મળશે. તુ આવીશને મને સાંભળવા.”.

“ઓ.”.  ધરતી નુ મોઢુ વિલાઇ ગયુ..તેણે સાંજના અંબર માટે સરપ્રાઇઝ પાર્ટીનુ આયોજન કર્યુ હતુ. ચાર પાંચ મિત્રોને ડીનર પર આમંત્રિત કર્યા હતા.

“ ના,.. આજે મને જરા ઠીક નથી “.. તેણે બહાનુ કર્યુ.”.કેમ શું થયુ.?”.અંબરને ચિંતા થઇ.. “નથીંગ ટુ વરી ..  તુ પરવાર.. તને લેટ થઇ જશે.”

ઓફિસની લોબીમાં અંબર લિફ્ટની રાહ જોતો ઉભો હતો. તેના બે કલીગ આપસમાં કોઇની વાત કરતા હતા... “પેલો મહેરા છેને,તેની બૈરી બહુ ફટાકડી છે. મેહરાના ટુકા પગારમાંએ ઘરને ફાંકડુ ચલાવે છે. નીત નવા દાગીના ઘડાવે છે. કેવી રીતે મેનેજ કરતી હશે બધુ..?’

“અરે ઘણા રસ્તા હોય છે કમાવવાના.. નોકરીમાં રચ્યાપચ્યા પતિદેવને ખબર પણ ન પડે તેવી રીતે હવે આ ગૃહણીઓકમાતી થઇ ગઇ છે. તે છાપામાં જાહેર ખબર નથી જોઇ.. ‘કમ્પની મળશે સારા ઘરની ગૃહંણીઓની’”.તેને ગંદી રીતે આંખ મારી.

આ મને સંભળાવવા કહેતો હશે.. અંબર ત્યાંથી હટી ગયો. લાગ્યુ કે તેની પીઠ પાછણ બન્ને એના પર હસતા હતા.

અઢી ત્રણ વાગે તે થિયેટર પર પહોંચ્યો. ચાર વાગેથી કોંસર્ટ શરૂ થવાનો હતો. પ્રોગ્રામ પહેલા લાઇટ રિફ્રેશમેંટની વ્યવસ્થા હતી. થોડુ ખાઇ તે બાથરૂમ તરફ ગયો.રસ્તામાં એકરૂપાળી વેઇટ્રેસએ તેની સામે સ્મિત કર્યુ..”સર, મેરા કાર્ડ”.. કાર્ડ લઇ તેને ખિસામાં મુકી દીધુ. તેને એમ કે કેટેરિંગવાળાનુ કાર્ડ હશે.

પાછા ફરતા પાછી પેલી વેઇટ્રેસ મળી.. “સર, દેખા આપને મેરા કાર્ડ.?”

“ હાં ,..હાં, અચ્છી કેટરિંગ સર્વિસ હે આપકી.”

“સર, વો કેટરિંગ વાલે કા નહીં, મેરા પર્સનલ કાર્ડ હે. જબ આપકો જરૂરત હો મેં આપકો એંટરટેંટ કર સકતી હું.” પેલી મારકણું હસી. અંબરને પસીનો આવી ગયો. “એંટરટેંટ.?” તો પેલો કપૂર સાચુ કહેતો હતો.. સારા ઘરની છોકરીયો એ આવા ધંધા કરતી હશે.. !!

 કોંસર્ટ ચાલુ થઇ પણ આજે અંબરનુ મન ક્યાંય નહોતુ. તેણે શું વગાડ્યુ..કોની સાથે વગાડ્યુ.. શેંમાય તેનો જીવ નહોતો. તેનુ પત્યુકે તે તરત નિકળી ગયો.ઘરે પહોંચ્યો ત્યાં સુધી તેનુ મગજ વિચાર વંટોળમાં અટવાએલુ હતુ.તેની મનની શાંતી છિન્ન ભિન્ન થઇ ગઇ હતી. સદા શાંત રહેતો અંબર આજે તપી ગયો હતો. મિત્રોએ વાત કરી તે મને ચેતવવા માટે જ કરી..  ટુંકી આવકમાં ધરતી આટલુ વ્યવસ્થિત ઘર ચલાવી જ કેવી રીતે શકે.

ઘરે પહોંચ્યો તો પાર્ટી ચાલતી હતી મિત્રો તેને ઘેરી વળ્યા. “હેપી વેલેંટાઇન ડે.. દોસ્ત, તારા પ્રેમની સાલગિરહ મુબારક હો.”. પણ આજે અંબર કંઇ સાંભળવાના મુડમાં નહોતો. ધરતીએ નવી સાડી પહેરી હતી. નવા દાગીનામાં તેનુ સુંદર મુખ ઓપતુ હતુ. નવા દાગીના.. અંબરનુ શંકાનુ ઝાળુ ઓર મજબૂત થયુ. આજે તે ધરતીને પ્રેમાળ નજરથી ન જોઇ શક્યો. એનો મૂડ જોઇ મિત્રો એ વહેલા નિકળી ગયા.

ધરતી એ પાછળથી આવી તેના ગળામાં હાથ નાખ્યો. “કેવી લાગી મારી સરપ્રાઇઝ ?..તેના હાથમાં ગિફ્ટનુ બોક્સ હતુ.. “આ મારા ડિયર માટે ગિફ્ટ.” મોંઘામાં નુ રિકોર્ડ પ્લેયર હતુ જે લેવાની તેને ઘણા સમયથી ઇચ્છા હતી.“કેવી લાગી મારી ગિફ્ટ .?”. ધરતી લાડમાં પૂછતી હતી.. અંબરે તેનો હાથ પોતાના ગળામાં થી ઝટકો મારી દૂર કર્યો..ધરતીને નવાઇ લાગી.“શું થયુ.?. તારો પ્રોગ્રામ... “

“ મારે તારી પાસેથી પાઇ પાઇ નો હિસાબ જોઇયે છે.”. ધરતી કંઇ સમજી નહી.. “હિસાબ? ..કેવો હિસાબ..?”

“આ બધા ખર્ચા તુ કાઢે છે કેવી રીતે..? આ પાર્ટીઓ..આ નવા દાગિના બધુ આવે છે કેવી રીતે?એ જાણવુ છે મારે.”

તેના અવાજનો ટોન સાંભળી ધરતીનો ચહેરો તપેલા તવા જેવો થઇ ગયો . “યુ મિન કે આ ઘરનો ખર્ચો ચલાવવા હું શું આડા અવળા કામ કરુ છુ.એ જાણવુ છે તારે.”. એ તિરસ્ક્રુત નજરે અંબર સામે જોઇ રહી. “આ દાગિના સાચા નથી, ખોટા છે.” તેને અંદરથી હિસાબની ડાયરી લાવી તેના સામે ફેંકી.“લે જોઇ લે .શું જોવુ છે તારે.?.અને આદાગિના.. વિશ્વાસન હોય તો ખરાઇ કરાવી લેજે.” માળા કાઢીને તેના પર ઘા કર્યો….”.સ્ત્રી બધુ ચલાવી શકે છે પણ પોતાના ચારિત્ર પર આક્ષેપ ક્યારેય નહી.. તુ આર્થિક રીતે ગરીબ હતો એ મને મંજૂર હતુ , પણ આજે તુ મનથી ગરીબ થઇ ગયો છે અને તે મને મંજૂર નથી. તુ મારા પર શંકા કરે છે.. મારા પર.. .? રડતી રડતી ધરતી બોલી “આ શંકાના વાદળ વચ્ચે આપણુ સહજીવન શક્ય નથી .હવે હું અહીં તારી સાથે રહી શકુ નહીં.” તેણે બેગમાં પોતાના કપડા ભર્યા અને ઘરની બહાર નિકળી ગઇ. અંબરમાં એટલીએ હામ નહોતી કે તેને રોકે.. પૂછે આટલી મોડી રાતે ક્યાં જઇશ ?

તે ડાયરી જોઇ રહયો. બે છેડા ભેગા કરવા ધરતી ટ્યુશન કરતી હતી.! મને એણે આ વાત જણાવી કેમ નહીં.. તો તો મને શંકા આવત જ નહીંને.. અંતે તો મેલ ઇગો.. નમે કેમ..

ધરતી અંબરનો નંદનવન શો સંસાર રોળાઇ ગયો..લોકો સંભળાવતા..  અમે નહોતા કહેતા ..આકજોડુ લાંબુ ખેંચશે જ નહીં. સોનાના મહેલમાં રહેતી ધરતી અભાવો ભર્યા જીવનમાં સેટલ ન જ થઇ શકે. અંબર કેમ કરીને કહે કે આમાં મારો મારો ને ફક્ત મારો જ વાંક છે. ધરતી તો આજે પણ પવિત્ર છે.ખોટુ લાંછન મેં તેના પર લગાડ્યુ છે. તે ધરતી માટે ઝુરતો. મનોમન તેની માફી માંગતો. પણ હવે શો ફાયદો..

પાછુ એક બળબળતુ વરસ નિકળી ગયુ. આજે પાછો વેલેંટાઇન ડે છે.જુવાન હૈયા થનગનતા હતા. અંબરને ધરતીની તિવ્રતાથી યાદ આવતી હતી . ધરતી સાથે પોતે પરણવાની ના પાડી તો ધરતી કેવી હઠ પર અડી ગઇ હતી. અને તેને પામીની જ જંપી. તો શું હું હઠ પર અડી ધરતીને ન પામી શકુ. તેને મનોમન નિર્ણયલીધો અને ધરતી જ્યાં રહેતી હતી તે લેડિસ હોસ્ટેલની બહાર જઇ ઉભો રહ્યો. જેવી ધરતી બહાર આવી કે ઘુટનો પર બેસી પડ્યો... “હેપી વેલેંટાઇન ડે ધરતી..વિલ યુ બી માય વેલેંટાઇન..?”

તેની આખોંમાં થી આંસુ વહેતા હતા. એઆંસુઓની પવિત્રતાથી પેલુ પ્રેમનુ ઝરણુ કલ કલ કરતુ વહી નિકળ્યુ.

• A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes alone to hell or the Supreme abode.
• The earth is supported by the power of truth; it is the power of truth that makes the sun shine and the winds blow; indeed all things rest upon truth.
•  The serpent, the king, the tiger, the stinging wasp, the small child, the dog owned by other people, and the fool: these seven ought not to be awakened from sleep.
• There is poison in the fang of the serpent, in the mouth of the fly and in the sting of a scorpion; but the wicked man is saturated with it.
• He who lives in our mind is near though he may actually be far away; but he who is not in our heart is far though he may really be nearby.
• Purity of speech, of the mind, of the senses, and of a compassionate heart are needed by one who desires to rise to the divine platform.
• Do not be very upright in your dealings for you would see by going to the forest that straight trees are cut down while crooked ones are left standing.
• The happiness and peace attained by those satisfied by the nectar of spiritual tranquillity is not attained by greedy persons restlessly moving here and there.
• One whose knowledge is confined to books and whose wealth is in the possession of others, can use neither his knowledge nor wealth when the need for them arises.
• As long as your body is healthy and under control and death is distant, try to save your soul; when death is immanent what can you do?
